David Straker - My Music

I decided (2008-2011) that, in the absence of any new musical inspiration, I would remix all of the original music that I've recorded since I turned 50. Perhaps the heart attack in 2007 had something to do with it. Before I turned 50, I'd written or composed very little music although I'd played tons in my pre-teens, teens and twenties. It's strange that it took so long and became so important.

The remixes use new mixing software (including Sonar 8.5 and TRackS3) and new instruments: notably Vienna Symphonic Orchestra for the orchestral instruments, Scarbee Pre-Bass for the most of the bass  guitar parts and Kontakt 4 sample sets for drum kits and most of the other instruments (from alto sax to zils).

This web site is a jumping-off point to access everything. Here's the music in chronological sequence.
