Happy Christmas 2005 to Northumberland and Geordies everywhereHere's your Christmas box from Ann Lunam-Cowan and Dave Straker: The Naffs - Unplugged
|
What's the catch? There's no gimmick. We don't track who downloaded anything or anything daft like that. We just wrote some songs we hope you'll like. Feel free to download these songs, burn them to CD, put them on your mp3 player, make copies for your friends, play them, etc. The only things you can't do are to make money from them or use them in your own recordings. Read about us in the Evening ChronicleClick here. For slow Internet connections:If you've got a regular phone line to access the internet, it might take a bit of time to download these. You might want to download Net Transport and install it first. (Then come back and do the downloads of the songs.) Net Transport's a download accelerator than automatically kicks in when you click on a link and speeds up your downloads - it can be 5 times as fast as a regular download. Even with broadband, it's faster. The songs:Ann and Dave wrote the lyrics except for Wake Up Me Bonny Lad and A Miner's Prayer (Dave takes full responsibility for those). Dave wrote the music, the Naffs played it and Dave recorded it. The Naffs (Dave's imaginary band):Mitch - violin (fiddle to you folkies) Helen - flute Dave - guitar (and bits of mandolin and Lion Drum) and vocals (d'ye caal that a voice ye fond feul?) Technical stuff:All the songs here are in broadcast stereo quality mp3 format. That's about 4-5 megabytes compared with the 50 megabytes each of them would be on a CD. So, the mp3 quality is a bit less than a CD would be but, hey, they're free! How to download them:Right click on a song title and choose "Save Target As" or, if you have installed Net Transport, just click on the song title. |

More?If you like these free ones, there's some samples from "The Pit Still Gets Her Man" CD that Ann and Dave made in 2004. Click here for those. There's also more info about Ann and Dave there. |
